Shanghai Art Fair 2016 kicked off on Thursday with the theme of "Getting people involved with the collection", and will last until November 6.

Around 140 art galleries from 17 countries such as US, Germany, South Korea and Japan took part in the event. Thousands of art pieces including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, sculptures, ceramics and installations were seen during the fair.

This year, the 20th session of the event, will bring the platform to a wider range of people and connect art with daily life and our living environments.
