As the latest and the last one among the 23 provincial and municipal events, the Shandong Week, themed "Silk Road-driven Prosperity and Green Shandong", was launched at the China Pavilion of Astana Expo on Sept 6.

Officials attending and addressing the opening ceremony included Wang Jinzhen, vice-chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Xia Geng, deputy director of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, Liu Jiangping, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan, Talgat Doskenov, vice-chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NCE), Zhamalov Baurzhan Saldarovich, vice-governor of South Kazakhstan region, and Aidyn Bayedilov, general director of the Kazakhstan Investment Cooperation Agency.

Some 200 representatives from Chinese and Kazakh government institutions, business chambers and associations, companies, colleges and media, and national pavilions of the expo also attended the event.
