Forty people were killed in the crash.

As of Friday, 106 of the patients have been discharged from 11 hospitals and another 19 have returned to their home provinces for further medical treatment, Wenzhou city's health department said in a press release.

Of the 52 patients remaining hospitalized in Wenzhou, 49 are in stable conditions, two cases are serious and one is critical, it said.

Xiang Weiyi, a two-year-old girl who was pulled out of the wreckage 21 hours after the accident and has drawn much publicity, is recuperating well after five operations at the No 2 Hospital Attached to the Wenzhou Medical College, said Guo Yuan, a specialist from Beijing who helped with the surgery.
