ROME - Coach Massimiliano Allegri believes the addition of Carlos Tevez (pictured) would give AC Milan the best attack in the world.

Milan are negotiating with Manchester City over the signing of the rebel Argentina striker but is now facing competition from French money-bags Paris St Germain.

And although there is no guarantee the 27-year-old will join the Italian champions, Allegri allowed himself a moment to muse over the possibilities ahead of Sunday's trip to Bologna.

"It's better to have great players playing for you rather than against you," said Allegri.

"If he joins it would strengthen a part of the team that is already world class, and then we would have the best attack in the world."

Milan already has the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Antonio Cassano and Robinho on their books but Allegri doesn't believe the addition of another potentially combustible character would harm the team.

"As well as being young lads they're professionals and I believe it's easier to manage so-called hot-heads at Milan, although I believe that everyone has their own character and that has to be managed accordingly."

Allegri admitted that Tuesday night's 2-2 draw at Viktoria Plzen, in which the Rossoneri led by a pair of goals with a minute to go before a dramatic late collapse, still rankles.

"The game was over with the chance to score more goals. You can't concede two goals like that," moaned Allegri.

"Certain mistakes mustn't be repeated. When your opponents are dying you have to kill them, in a sporting sense.

"But I'm sure the lads will play well, although we mustn't risk underestimating our opponents.

"We must not give them many chances, they're good from set-balls, we need to be technical and aggressive."

Milan sits second in the Serie A table, a pair of points behind Juventus,which has the advantage of not playing in Europe, and Allegri believes it will have a tougher job retaining its title than it did winning it in the first place.

"Juve will fight to the end and we have to stay in front. But then there are others like Lazio, Udinese and Napoli who will come back into it," he said.

"January and February will be crucial months. Last year we sealed the title three games from the end; this year I'd be happy doing so in the penultimate game."
