TOYKO - A series of aftershocks hit off the east coast of Japan's Honshu island early Saturday morning, but no immediate of damage or casualties were reported.

The latest tremor, measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale, struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan Saturday at 06:36:36 local time, according to the US Geological Survey.

The epicenter, with a depth of 17.60 km, was initially determined to be at 40.1219 degrees north latitude and 143.3306 degrees east longitude, the USGS reported.

The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.6, hit the area at 04:26:36 am local time. ?

As of now, no widespread tsunami warning was issued.
