State leaders joined panel discussions with the country's political advisors, calling for concerted efforts to pull through the global financial crisis, which is unfolding its impact on the country's economy.
國(guó)家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人與政協(xié)委員一同參加了政協(xié)會(huì)議的分組討論，并呼吁大家齊心協(xié)力應(yīng)對(duì)已經(jīng)給中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)造成影響的全球經(jīng)濟(jì)危機(jī)。
在上面的報(bào)道中，panel discussion就是指“分組討論”，有時(shí)也寫作group discussion。在全體會(huì)議后，政協(xié)會(huì)議設(shè)立專門的分組討論。Panel在這里指“小組”，或者對(duì)一組對(duì)象進(jìn)行的典型調(diào)查。為了調(diào)查清楚這個(gè)問(wèn)題，我們會(huì)同an advisory panel of experts（由專家構(gòu)成的顧問(wèn)小組）進(jìn)行了a fact-finding panel（為弄清真相對(duì)民眾進(jìn)行的抽樣調(diào)查）。最終結(jié)果將由arbitration panel（仲裁小組）決定。目前我們實(shí)行的是assessment panel mechanism（評(píng)委員會(huì)機(jī)制）。
此外，panel還可以指法庭的“陪審團(tuán)”。例如general powers of the panel（陪審團(tuán)的一般權(quán)力）。Your name is down on the panel of jurors.（你的名字已列入陪審團(tuán)名單）。
