Chen visited some entrepreneurs and good-hearted people to seek financial support.
"Sometimes I was treated as a fraud and cast out, but I never gave up," he said. "Fortunately, I received lots of trust from strangers across the country, and there were also lots of donors who contacted me to get the students' information."
Chen also donated some 80,000 yuan of his own money through the years to help children in need and said he would never stop his efforts.
